Buzz Candles was a collaborative project involving three interior design students and one graphic design student. The objective was to plan a concept for a pop-up event that would promote a product or cause. Our team created a product designed to raise awareness and benefit bee conservation efforts.
The proposed pop-up event would invite consumers to participate in candle-making sessions, immersing them in an environment that mimicked the experience of being a busy bee working in a hive.
The graphic designer on our team was responsible for developing the branding and creating a proposal book to present our concept. The branding for Buzz Candles was crafted to convey a simple yet artisanal vibe. We aimed to help consumers understand that the work of bees—and humanity’s role in supporting them—might seem simple but is crucial for our collective survival.
The candle labels featured a hand-drawn, line-art pattern that consumers could color themselves. This interactive design not only encouraged creativity but also allowed for variations in production.
